Who is responsible

PhotopixPro is run by PhotoPix Solutions, which is responsible for the data described on this page. For any privacy question, write to info@photopixpro.com.

The files you open

  • The images and documents you open are read by your browser from your disk and edited inside the browser tab. They're never uploaded to our server or to anyone else.
  • The editor itself only asks our server for its own program files: its code, the WebAssembly module and a font list. It has no telemetry, update checks or error reporting, it doesn't load fonts or scripts from other sites, and it never sends your images anywhere. The page around it counts visits with Google Analytics, as explained under cookies and analytics.
  • When you save or export, the file is created in your browser and downloads to your computer.
  • The editor contains a few links to other websites. They only open if you click them.

Check it yourself

Open your browser's developer tools (F12 in most desktop browsers), go to the Network tab and open a file in the editor. You'll see requests for the editor's own files and requests to Google Analytics with the address of the page (without cookies unless you accepted them). None of them carry your image.

Passing a file from a page to the editor

When you choose or drop a file on one of our pages, such as Open PSD online, the page stores it briefly in your browser's own storage (IndexedDB, in a database called "photopix") and then opens the editor. The editor picks the file up from there and deletes it straight away. If that doesn't happen, the editor deletes it the next time it opens and ignores it if it's more than 10 minutes old. The file never leaves your device during this step.

What your browser stores

The editor keeps these in your browser, on your device, so they're still there next time:

  • your preferences, keyboard shortcuts, saved settings and the editor language our pages set, in local storage;
  • your brushes and actions, in IndexedDB.

We can't see or read this data. To remove it, clear this site's data in your browser's settings. That also resets the editor to its defaults.

Cookies and analytics

Our pages, including the editor page, use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people use. The first time you visit, a notice asks whether you accept its cookies:

  • If you accept, Google Analytics sets its cookies (_ga and one that starts with _ga_), which last up to two years. Google receives the page you visit, the page you came from, your browser, device and screen size, and how you move around the site. It uses your IP address to estimate your country and city and doesn't store it. Your images and files are never sent.
  • If you reject, or until you choose, no analytics cookies are set, and Google only receives basic signals without cookies or identifiers (Google's consent mode).
  • No advertising. Advertising features are switched off, and we don't use this data for ads.

You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page; if you reject, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted. Your choice is kept in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. Apart from Google Analytics, pages load their fonts, images and scripts from our own site only.

Server logs

Our web server records each request in an access log: your IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, the response code and size, the page that linked to it (referrer) and your browser's identification (user agent). We use these logs only to keep the site working and secure, for example to spot errors or attacks. We keep them only as long as we need them for those purposes, and then delete them. We don't combine them with other data, and we don't sell them.

If you write to us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to answer you and to fix what you report, and we keep it only as long as we need it for that.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to the data we hold about you, such as log entries for your IP address or your emails. You can also ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to its use, and receive a copy, by writing to info@photopixpro.com. If you think we haven't handled your request properly, you can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Changes to this policy

If we change how PhotopixPro handles data, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. Questions? See the contact page or our terms of use.
